Bad Fads

This morning I stumbled across The Bad Fads Museum, which gives a summary of some of the *ahem* more embarassing fads that have infiltrated western culture at one time or another. There's some pretty good stuff on there... some pretty scary stuff as well. I enjoyed browsing the crazy fashions the most.

Speaking of crazy fashion, I enjoyed today's post on the Why Do People... blog. Anyone who has ever raised an eyebrow at the extreme lengths some girls go to putting fashion before comfort and practicality should check it out!

Things are not always as they seem...

Sometimes things are not what they seem.... Sometimes our eyes play tricks on us... Sometimes our imaginations tend to run a little bit wild... Here are a few images I borrowed from a post on The Chive. If you're interested check out the original post for more amusing images.

Melbourne Storm

As everyone has probably heard, even those of you who aren't NRL supporters, the Melbourne Storm have been caught in a massive scandal!
They breached their salary cap and are suffering HUGE penalties including loosing multiple premierships, and being fined over $1,000,000!
There are loads of stories circling the net, but my favorite (as an Eels supporter) is this joke:

What has 26 legs and cant climb a ladder?
- The Melbourne Storm

I've heard it multiple times and it has infected Facebook. Including with Facebook pages like this.

FML

I don't think any blog about weird funny websites would be complete without a mention of FML. This great website showcases everyday misshaps, ironic events...and the occasional 'WTF-that-can't-be-true' posts.

Here are a few of my personal faves:

Today, I received my passport in the mail. They got my birthdate wrong. Then I picked up my birth certificate that I had sent in with the application. Turns out my parents have been celebrating my birthday on the wrong day for 16 years. FML

Today, I was rejected from the University of Washington. My dad has been a professor there for 30 years, and is on the board of admissions. FML

Today, I checked my email after a week of no cell reception or internet while I was stuck at a family holiday cottage. There was an email offering me the RA job I've been trying to get for almost a year, telling me congratulations and to reply by Friday if I accepted. Last Friday. FML
